We are still adding stuff to this page. The County, Park Service, and Potomac Appalachian Trail Club took photos. We will include links to their photos if they should choose to share.
The County provided a map. The red triangles are the locations of the balloons. The red circles are the locations of where they intend to go to gauge the visual impact. Since they focused on the impact on the Parks, we focused on the impact on the residents who live here 24/7.
There was a yellow, a red, and an orange balloon. When looking at these photos, please remember that each of the three balloons only mark the approximate location of a tower. We assume that it also marks the approximate height. The tower will be much more visible than a simple balloon! Ultimately, a location will be selected for an actual tower. It will be one of the locations marked by these balloons, the original proposed location on Keep Tryst, or (if citizens can convince the County) Short Hill. The tower will be 190 feet tall, of truss construction, with four large microwave dishes. We have photos for both the County's and the citizen's balloon tests for the original proposed location on Keep Tryst.
