We are very pleased to have nationally and internationally known Civil War Historian, Dennis Frye, as our speaker this month. Mr. Frye, Chief Historian at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, is a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. 
 
Dennis Frye's short list of works are: Author of five books; author of 60 magazine and journal articles, including for every major Civil War publication; Associate Producer of the movie, Gods and Generals; Co-chairman, Antietam 135th and 140th Commemorations and Reenactments, 1997, 2002; Guest historian on the History Channel, PBS, A&E, and the Discovery Channel.
 
Topic of Mr. Frye's presentation is "Preserving Washington County -- A Personal Model". If you care about Washington County's heritage and Civil War history, this is one you certainly don't want to miss.
 
Directions: From I-81, take the Halfway Blvd exit.
                       Go east on Halfway Blvd, past Valley Mall.
                       At Virginia Ave intersection, turn right (south)
                       Travel about 1/4 mile on Virginia Ave. to Lincoln Ave intersection.
                       Turn Right onto Lincoln Ave, beside Halfway Liquor store.
                       Go one block on Lincoln Ave. Fire Hall is on the left. 
                       Parking is available in the Fire Hall parking lot and on-street.
                      
                       From Hagerstown, take Virginia Ave (U.S. Rt 11) south.
                       Turn right onto Lincoln Ave. (beside Halfway Liquor store)
                      
                       From Williamsport, take Rt. 11 North. Turn left onto Lincoln Ave.(beside Halfway Liquor store).
