A set of 20 images taken 15 seconds apart is displayed as a repeating time-lapse video. Click the video to zoom in & out. About once every 5 minutes, a new set of images is loaded and the repeating time-lapse video updates. Each image has a time stamp showing the "military" time it was taken. You can see the cars in the day and the headlights and taillights at night. Cars will be close together if traffic is slow. If cars are not moving at all from one frame to the next, traffic is severely backed up. We have a page contrasting high and low traffic images to help you. The quality of the images depend on weather conditions. The webcam is located in Maryland and overlooks Virginia. JavaScript must be enabled for this page to work. We are archiving the images.
